Recently I went into Boots and asked the NO7 team to colour match my skin so that I could find my perfect foundation shade and give one of their foundation a whirl for the first time – I will blog the results soon.
The team were then able to pin point which shade of their lip products would work well with my skin tone. I have three new lippies to showcase over the next few weeks, the first is the Sweet Copper hue from the Moisture Drench range (£9.95). It soon became clear that it would be the perfect accompaniment to one of my new NO7 varnishes, which was a nice bonus!
As soon as you swipe the lipstick across your lips you feel the moisture stated in the product description. It feels creamy without feeling heave,y and you can’ help but rub your lips together because it feels like it is softening your lips a bit more each time you do so. After one coat you can still see some of your natural lip colour and ridges showing through the formula, after a second sweep it is more of an even and dense coverage.
It is a flattering shade of pink, one that I could imagine working on both pale and tanned skins – relatively subtle and suitable for daytime.
One huge plus point, from someone who has rather protruding front teeth – so far it hasn’t found it’s way on to my gnashers….which is a very rare thing!
No7 Gel-Look Shine in Grapefruit (£7)
When I try out nail varnishes I like to have a few nails completely bare and others that have the previous colour still on, it helps you see how good the coverage is, and how many coats you need for opaque finish. On bare nails the varnish looks lovely after one coat, a watered down coral pink sort of colour. It didn’t cover the silver polish I had worn before – to manage that I needed to add a further two coat. If you are varnishing bare nails two coats are sufficient to create an even and bold colour.
The think I have found about professional gel nails and similar, is that they are so thick I can’t help but attack them with my teeth – they are just so chewable. The good thing about this varnish is that it gives the high shine aesthetic of a gel nail without feeling like you have a heavy amount of product on the nail.
Another great summer product to add to your beauty portfolio – the perfect shade for weddings, day wear and also against your summer wardrobe. I love the colour teamed with a classic white tee and my favourite denim.
