We’ve both been flagging lately, with every day feeling like a bit of a struggle. Instead of giving in and cancelling work or social plans we’ve really been trying to pull through in the hope we’ll come out the other side feeling a bit better. On the particularly low days I’ve tried particularly hard to ignore my natural impulse to avoid showering and doing make up while opting to fester in bed all day. Instead I’ve been forcing myself up and persuading Simon to come for a walk with me. The removal of cabin fever and duvet dwelling has done us both the world of good. Not only do you work through things in your head and through conversations you have on said walks, you start to remember the beautiful things that world has to offer. When logged into the world via social media it is easy to feel the world is a lost cause, filled with hardship, misery and devastation. In truth it does feel like there is a lot of sadness and destruction in the world of late, but there is still a lot to marvel out, and being out within nature can you remind you of this.
Immersing yourself in beautiful surroundings, away from the noise of modern life, I also feel compelled to start enjoying my little LUMIXGM1 camera again. I love being able to pop it in my pocket and capture any image that compels me to do just that. Unfortunately for Si, that means he’s going to become a regular subject, whether he likes it or not. Talking of the man, the myth, the legend, that is Si Mitchell…I think he has pretty spot on style so I thought I’d feature him in today’s post.
You know what they say about couples starting to dress like each other, I never thought that would happen to us. However, lately we have both been veering towards similar style – how nauseating. Not only have we both been enjoying hunting for vintage treasures, we’ve both been opting for simple and unfussy ensembles.
Here Si went for a simple but bold monochrome tee teamed with jeans and worn in black boots, with a pop of colour courtesy of his new sunnies.
I went for classic nautical stripes and my new retro feel mom jeans – with a pop of colour courtesy of my trainers.
What do you think of simple style?
